intern experience

I am an intern. I tried to send my CV when there was a notification from my campus, it was from this company. I work in a manufacturing company, one of the biggest packaging company located in Cikarang. Before I was accepted to work here I had spent weeks to find an internship. Mostly in the same area. I planned it with my boyfriend, that after 8 months in a long distance relationship we really need to be together. I didn't think that this opportunity is actually a miracle. The recruiter called me in May, I forget the date but I'm sure I was at home, sleeping. He called me and I answered, weird. I'm mostly rejecting phone calls and prefer texts. He told me that I would be interviewed on Thursday, May 6. I was surprised that I got an interview, it was really hard for me, someone from International Relations background to get into an industrial working place. Then I prepared myself, I learned how to answer properly and release my nervous. On Thursday evening, after I did it online I told him that I think I would be accepted and start on May 17 after Raya. We both remember how happy we were hearing this news. Days after that I spent Raya with joy knowing that I no longer had a problem. I reassured the recruiter and he said I could start on 19 May and ended up on May 27. Every morning my boyfriend drops me at work and he will pick me up at 5 P.M. He is truly a gem.

The first week was the tough one, I did not know what to do. I was clueless. I tried so hard to fit in, I forced myself to absorb information much quicker than I used to. My boyfriend cheered me and I could feel his company when I was at home with him. Then I started to get really excited to go to work knowing that I am now able to do my job. I was so happy going to work knowing that my internship would end not in the near future. That I still had some months to think about my thesis or final project. I'm so happy everytime he arrives to pick me up and go home.
